HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR+A HORSE = MAGIC

The BEST part about photography is that it is like an adventure….you never know where it might take you!  When Alex’s mom asked me to do her pictures with her horse at Shade Lawn Ranch, I was soo excited!!!  I absolutely LOVE going to new places!!!  Alex’s is a barrel  racer ~ so it only makes sense to have her senior pictures taken with her love~a horse named, Magic~ I LOVE this shoot….everything about it!!!  The clothes, the setting (which looks like an enchanted forest), and most of all Alex’s beautiful blue eyes!!!  You can just tell Alex and her horse have a loving connection.  We had a few little hiccups with Magic ~  He does not like dogs that bark….or leaves rustling above his head….this we know.  He adores Alex’s calm, loving nature as it show’s in these images. Magic’s friends were not very happy to know that Magic was on an adventure without them….. After finishing up we Magic, we explored the AWESOME buildings on the ranch~  I could have spent the whole day there!   Such a playground for photography.

Wow…school started yesterday which means summer is about over….so where is the summer weather? Really, no complaints here just does not seem like summer should be coming to an end…. The blogging thing seems so odd to me because I am not one to write….trying to sit down and write really is hard work for me. I figured today I have avoided writing since July so it is about time that I spend quality time blogging here today. Now I am a bit overwhelmed with WHAT and WHO to write about. I have really had such a GREAT summer filled with BEAUTIFUL weddings-Fabulous Famlies and some of the cutest kids ever! I guess I will start with the fabulous Jasper family! These three adorable kids are completely at ease in the country-Me Too!

Brooke Lopes Senior Session-Can you just see the character in BROOKE??? What fun this session was. She wanted something different and I think we pulled it off:) I LOVED the swan outfit Brook made for Donkey Basketball it reminded me of the Black Swan which happens to be one of her favorite movies. Brooke thanks for the FUN session!!!

-Sierra is a Senior-Setting out in the very dreary grey month of January…..Sierra (my daughter) and I decided to take some senior pictures. It is truly hard to believe that she is graduating from high school this year. It seems just yesterday I was dressing her up in cute little outfits sitting her in flower beds trying to get just ONE good picture. I am going to try to post some of the oldies. Yes…it requires scanning…ugh. Sierra was my inspiration to shoot. I just loved to take pictures of her! Seventeen years ago I decided to put one of her images in the Merced Fair and was SO surprised when I received Best of Show. I could not believe it! I was so excited to win I decided I should take a class or two and learn how to use the camera. Enrolling in Allen Beymers Photography class at Merced College I found myself challenged by the assignments of light/line/shadow/texture. Somehow I always found a way to incorporate Sierra’s picture into my assignments. I loved getting lost in the darkroom. There is nothing more exciting to see a plain white sheet of paper come to life in the darkroom. […]

I am always excited to see a break in the weather….what is it about rain that seems to make everything so vibrant!? Caroline’s senior session was soo much fun we were able to take advantage of the almond orchards and then she took me to her grandfathers ranch. WHAT A PLAYGROUND! Here just a few of my FAVS!
